A little about Matthew:

Matthew Bendert has a passion for language and images that he brings to every project he undertakes.

Born and raised in the Great Lakes region, he graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2003 with a B.A. in History and French Literature. There he edited the literary arts journal Montage. His career has included stints as a journalist, event and portrait photographer, copywriter, market analyst, staff developmental editor, and academic copy editor.

Based in occasionally sunny Northeast Portland, Oregon, Matthew is always on the lookout for new and engaging projects. When not editing or writing, he can be found performing at some of Portland's spoken word poetry events or out in the wider world creating urban and nature photography.
